VILLAGE OF RED HOOK – Red Hook Police have reported a Thursday night crash between a car and a stray cow on North Broadway in the village.  The 8:30 p.m. incident caused “extensive damage” to the car, according to a statement issued by the department.

The driver of the 2005 Dodge, a 64-year-old woman from Livingston, was traveling northbound on North Broadway (Route 9) when a cow entered the roadway.  The driver was unable to avoid striking the cow head-on.  The driver sustained a minor wrist injury.  The bruised bovine survived and fled the scene.  The owner of the runaway cow was notified.
