MONTICELLO – The Sullivan County Industrial Development Agency has imposed a temporary pause on receiving new applications under certain of its uniform tax exemption programs.

That program suspension will give the IDA board time to review its policies, said Executive Director Jennifer Flad.

“The reason for that is to give the IDA, in coordination with the county, time to perform an in-depth review of the IDA’s uniform tax-exempt policies,” she said.

IDA’s can typically grant new economic development projects payments-in-lieu-of-taxes, sales tax exemptions on building materials and mortgage recording fee exemptions.

Exempt from the pause are applications for projects contemplated by and pursuant to the master development agreement with EPT Concord II; Veria Lifestyles; Meadow Partners, Great Pine, NARO Building and Indian Fields; and between Sullivan County Funding Corporation and Monticello Industrial Park.

The pause is anticipated to be in place through March 1, 2022.
