MONTICELLO – A 22-year-old Narrowsburg man was sentenced in Sullivan County Court on Wednesday to four years in state prison for his serious assault on a teenager in August 2020.

District Attorney Meagan Galligan said Jordan Zimmer pled guilty to a felony assault charge in July, admitting that even though the victim refused to engage in a fight with him, he prepared himself with a mouthpiece and caused serious physical injury to the teen by beating him in the face.

The victim required several surgeries and corrective procedures.

County Court Judge James Farrell also sentenced Zimmer to three years of post-release supervision and entered an order of protection directing Zimmer to permanently stay away from the victim and the victim’s family.

“Zimmer intentionally sought out this victim for the sole purpose of assaulting him,” said Galligan.

Sheriff Mike Schiff said the DA’s office “aggressively pursued this case and held the defendant accountable.”
