BEEKMAN – Two men are dead following an altercation in the Town of Beekman late Wednesday night.
Dutchess County Sheriff’s deputies were called to 174 Walnut Drive around 11 p.m. for a report of a man stabbing other people.
Preliminary investigation revealed that William Salcius, 32, of Beekman started an altercation with neighbors during which he started stabbing three of them several times before taking his own life.
One victim, William McGoorty, 35, died at the scene and two others – Robert McGoorty, 30, and Edward McGoorty, 58, were taken to MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie with life-threatening injuries.
The victims and suspect were known to one another; however, a motive is still under investigation.
