MAMAKATING – A Town of Wallkill woman has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal hit-and-run accident on Route 209 near Perron Road in the Town of Mamakating that occurred just before 11 p.m. on Saturday, September 4.
State Police said that Raymond Anderson, 51, of the Town of Wallkill was struck by a vehicle that left the scene. He was transported to Garnet Health Medical Center in Wallkill where he was pronounced dead.
Investigation led to the arrest of Shirley Bowens, 48, of the Town of Wallkill. She was charged with the felony of leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in death.
She was arraigned and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail.
