Man shot in Newburgh

NEWBURGH – A 27-year-old City of Newburgh resident sustained non-life-threatening wounds after being shot on Friday, September 3, at approximately 12:44 a.m.  Police say the incident occurred in the vicinity of Fullerton Avenue and South Street.

Police Chief Anthony Geraci told Mid-Hudson News that ShotSpotter alerted police to several gunshots originating in that area. Responding officers located evidence at the scene, confirming the ShotSpotter report.

A short time later, police received a call from a local hospital that a man with gunshot wounds was being treated at their facility.

The criminal investigation into this incident is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the City of Newburgh Detective Division at (845) 569-7509.
