POUGHKEEPSIE – Medical experts have been telling us for weeks now that most people who have become infected with the coronavirus have not been vaccinated.

An informal survey conducted by Dutchess County officials bares that out, notes County Executive Marc Molinaro.

“Eighty percent of those who self-report, so of those we contacted and respond to the calls, 80 percent of those new cases are among those who were not fully vaccinated. That could mean that an individual may have received their first dose or no dose at all,” he said.

Because of the spread of the Delta variant of the virus, counties have begun to reopen mass distribution centers for those who have not been vaccinated. Also, health officials are now saying a third dose may be required for better protection against the deadly disease.
