STONY POINT – A 29-year-old Peekskill man was killed early Sunday morning when he failed to negotiate a bend in the roadway on the Palisades Interstate Parkway in Stony Point, crossed the median and struck a southbound car head on.
State Police identified the victim as Raul Ortunouzha, who was pronounced dead at the scene of the 4:50 a.m. crash.
Police said the investigation revealed he was driving a Honda Civic northbound when the car crossed into the southbound lanes and struck a 2020 Mercedes Benz. The driver of that vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
