MONROE – A 16-year-old male from Monroe was killed Tuesday night in Kiryas Joel after being struck by a vehicle. The incident occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Forest Road in Kiryas Joel.
State Police say their investigation indicates that 18-year-old Michael Gestetner of Brooklyn was operating a 2018 Chevrolet Traverse southbound on Forest Road when the victim, now identified as Aaron Friedman, abruptly entered the roadway and was struck by the Gestetner’s vehicle.
Freeman was transported by ambulance to Westchester Medical Center and was pronounced dead later that evening.
This investigation remains ongoing.
