CIRCLEVILLE – A serious accident on Route 17 near exit 119 has shut down traffic in both directions and State Police said two people are dead at the scene, two others have been airlifted with life-threatening injuries and seven were transported to Garnet Health Medical Center in Wallkill for treatment of injuries.
A passerby shot video that showed two people laying on the grassy median between the east and westbound lanes.
Several ambulances are on the scene along with police, and medivac helicopters have also been called in.
