Saugerties man strikes victim with car after dispute

SAUGERTIES – A 30-year-old Saugerties man was remanded to the Ulster County Jail on bail on Saturday following a dispute that led him to strike the victim with his vehicle.

Saugerties Police said the victim sustained serious injury in the incident on Clermont Street in the Village of Saugerties just before 11 a.m.

The driver, James Marrott, who fled the scene but was located a short time later, was charged with felony assault and a misdemeanor of criminal possession of a weapon.

At the time of his arrest, police found brass knuckles in Marrott’s possession.
