New State Police Troop F commander named

TOWN OF WALLKILL – Major Paul DeQuarto has been appointed the new Troop F commander of the State Police, headquartered in the Town of Wallkill.

A native of Highland, DeQuarto started his law enforcement career in 1998 as a town police officer before joining as a trooper in 2000.

DeQuarto was initially stationed in Troop F State Police in Highland until his transfer to Troop T (Thruway) in 2002.

He later served as an investigator in the Bureau of Criminal Investigation assigned to troop NYC before returning to Troop F in Wallkill as an investigator and then being assigned to the Major Crimes Unit.

As he went through the ranks, he was a lieutenant overseeing the BCI in Troop K, was later promoted to captain and in 2017, named the Zone 2 commander in Wappinger.

DeQuarto was appointed acting major of Troop F on May 27 of this year and promoted to the rank of major on June 24.
