NEWBURGH – Armed with a no-knock search warrant, Newburgh City and State Police raided a home at the Fogarty Apartments on Johnston Street, confiscated drugs and arrested the 77-year-old resident.

The search warrant was the result of a month-long investigation that began as a result of several complaints from residents and business owners.

Investigators recovered 5.8 grams of crack cocaine and charged Hardy Williams, Jr. with criminal possession of a controlled substance.

He was booked and released pending a future court appearance.

This was the second time in the last two years that Hardy was arrested and involved in the sale of drugs at the Fogarty Apartment complex.

Newburgh Police will continue to work with their partners to address neighborhood complaints of drug dealing and other quality of life crimes.

Anyone with information regarding criminal activity in their neighborhood is urged to call the police at 845-561-3131. Callers can remain anonymous.
