NEWBURGH – Divers have recovered the body of a man who fell into the Hudson River off the Newburgh City shoreline late Wednesday night.

The body of Maurice Pryce, 35, of the City of Newburgh was recovered at about 9:35 a.m. Thursday near the docks where he fell in around 10 p.m. the night before, Newburgh City Police said.

Area fire departments, a State Police dive team, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and the US Coast Guard, which conducted sonar sweeps of the area, searched well into the early morning hours and resumed at 6 a.m. Thursday.

Pryce fell into the river from a dock near the Blu Pointe restaurant in the area of 120 Front Street.
