TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – Shortly after 1 p.m. on Thursday, Town of Poughkeepsie Police responded to the Ridgefield Apartments on Jackman Drive. Sources told Mid-Hudson News that there was possibly a barricaded subject in one of the apartments.
As the police presence grew to a large number, a section of the complex was cordoned off with yellow police tape.
Later in the afternoon, the City of Poughkeepsie arrived on the scene along with the FBI, Arlington Fire District tactical medical unit, and Mobile Life Support Services.
Members of the town’s SWAT team were assembling at the back of one of the vehicles with Lieutenant Mel Bruschetti and Captain Michael O’Dowd.
The incident ended around 5:30 p.m. with the suspect gone from the scene.
