RED HOOK – The drivers of two cars were injured when their vehicles crashed at the intersection of Route 9 and Feller Newmark Road in Red Hook at mid-morning on Saturday.

Police said a 2016 Volkswagen was stopped on Route 9 waiting to make a left turn onto Feller Newmark Road. A 2020 Honda was southbound and failed to see the stopped VW and struck it from behind.

That caused the Honda to roll over coming to rest upside down in the middle of Route 9.

The driver of the VW, a 24-year-old Poughkeepsie woman, suffered neck and head injuries and was transported to Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck.

The driver of the Honda, a 71-year-old Red Hook woman, suffered chest and head injuries and was transported to Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson.

Police did not release the names of the two women involved in the accident.

Red Hook Police were assisted at the scene by the Red Hook Fire Company, Northern Dutchess Paramedics, Dutchess Sheriff’s Office and State Police.
