February unemployment remains high

ALBANY – Hudson Valley unemployment during the month of February ranged from a high of 7.2 percent in both Sullivan and Greene counties to a low of 5.8 percent in Columbia County.

Numbers began to rise even higher in March as the pandemic took hold.

In February, Westchester County saw a jobless rate of 6.9 percent, followed by 6.8 percent in Ulster County, 6.7 percent in Orange County, 6.4 percent in Dutchess, and 6.3 percent in Rockland.

Putnam County had a rate of 6.1 percent unemployment.
