Chlorine leak results in Newburgh evacuations

NEWBURGH – An Orange County haz-mat team was on the scene in the City of Newburgh as police evacuated buildings in the area of Lake Street Friday because of a chlorine leak.

Cornerstone Family Health Center’s headquarters and the Mullen’s Apartments were evacuated because of recorded high levels of chlorine.

The origin of the leak may have come from a commercial chlorine tank at a nearby business.
