WOODBURY – A worker in a trench at a construction site in the Woodbury Villas development in Central Valley was killed Monday morning when the 10-foot trench caved in, Woodbury Town Police reported.
The Orange County Technical Rescue Team responded to the scene to assist local efforts at rescuing the man.
The fatal incident occurred as the 43-year-old worker was in a trench with no safety box in place. Police said the walls of the trench collapsed, burying him.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by the Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office.
His identity was withheld pending of relatives.
