Liberty man charged with robbery, assault

LIBERTY – A resident of a motel in the Village of Liberty was arrested on Sunday for allegedly striking another resident in the face, breaking his nose.

State Police from the Liberty barracks and Village of Liberty Police arrested James Colon, 29, on charges of felony robbery and misdemeanor assault.

It is alleged that Colon was visiting the other man, he became angry and struck him in the face.

Colon then stole money and electronic devices including a Playstation 4, laptops and money. The items were recovered in Colon’s room.

He was remanded to the Sullivan County Jail on bail.
