STONY POINT – State Police are seeking the public’s assistance in their investigation of a fatal car fire on the Palisades Interstate Parkway in Stony Point.
At about 2 a.m., on Tuesday, February 16, troopers patrolling the parkway saw a dark-colored vehicle on the shoulder at exit 16 fully engulfed in flames.
The vehicle was in a snowbank and facing west.
The Stony Point Fire Department extinguished the fire and discovered a dead occupant inside.
The vehicle was a gray 2021 Hyundai Sonata.
Anyone who may have witnessed the accident is asked to call the State Police Troop F Bureau of Criminal Investigation at the Haverstraw barracks at 845-344-5300.
