South Carolina men arrested on several felony weapons charges

CORNWALL – Two Hemingway, South Carolina men were arrested following a traffic stop on the Thruway in the Town of Cornwall.

While interviewing the driver following the 5:25 a.m. stop on February 11, probable cause was established to search the vehicle and occupants.

That led to the discovery of a 9mm handgun with a magazine loaded with seven rounds.

The driver, Israel Davis, 25, and passenger, Malick Davis, 22, were charged with criminal possession of a weapon as a misdemeanor. Malick Davis was also charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon because of a previous conviction.

Both men were also charged with felony criminal possession of a firearm.

They were each released on appearance tickets returnable to Cornwall Town Court.
