TOWN OF FISHKILL – The Town of Fishkill Police apprehended a Rhode Island woman for shoplifting at Walmart on February 4, but the arrest of the 25-year-old woman turned out to be for more serious crimes.  Britini Raithel was caught stealing approximately $213 worth of merchandise from the store in Fishkill.

As police were searching her belongings, they discovered drugs and related paraphernalia in her possession.  In addition to the petit larceny charge, the Mapleview, Rhode Island woman faces felony drug charges after the police seized several rocks of crack cocaine, marijuana, used syringes, three glass pipes, and Xanax without a prescription.

Police Lieutenant Paul Schettino said that while Raithel was being processed by his officers, it was learned that the Town of Ulster Police had a felony warrant for the subject.  Raithel was issued appearance tickets for the Fishkill charges and turned over to the Ulster Police to answer the outstanding warrant.
