KINGSTON – Violent crime has been up in recent months in the City of Kingston, but a collaborative effort has been underway to put a lid on it.

City and State Police and the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office have been working together to solve many of those cases.

Mayor Steven Noble noted it must be a full community effort.

“Everything from providing opportunities for our youth to providing the programming at the restorative justice center that the county offers and then working hand in hand with law enforcement to make sure that we are doing everything that we can to keep our residents safe and protected in the community,” he said.

Noble said there have already been dividends in terms of recent arrests being made.
