Gunfire erupts again and again over weekend in Newburgh

NEWBURGH – A total of 28 shots were fired in seven incidents in the City of Newburgh from Saturday to early Monday morning, police reported.

All of the incidents were recorded by the city’s Shot Spotter computer software and most were confirmed with shell casings located on the scene.

The incidents focused mainly on the northeastern section of the city.

No one was struck; however, a vehicle and a residence were both hit in one of the incidents.

Detectives continue to investigate several leads.
