Ulster faces worst one-day COVID positives

KINGSTON – Wednesday saw the largest number of new positive cases of the coronavirus in one day in Ulster County.

County Executive Patrick Ryan said that is further proof that the second wave of the pandemic is here.

“We had 152 new positives in the last 24 hours. We also crossed another dangerous threshold exceeding 2,000 total active cases and if you remember it was just on December 1 that we crossed over the 1,000 threshold,” he said.

There were three more deaths in Ulster County in 48 hours, bringing the total number of people to have lost their lives to COVID-19 to 481.
