Armed robbery suspect sought in New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE – Police in the City of New Rochelle are investigating an armed robbery of BMK Wines and Liquors at 701 Main Street just before 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 12.

An employee said a man entered the store while he was stocking shelves. The suspect walked directly to the cash register and took $400 in cash.

The employee said he ran toward the suspect and began to struggle with him as the suspect tried to pull a handgun from the back of his waistband. The worker continued to struggle with the suspect preventing him from grabbing the gun.

The struggle continued out onto the sidewalk. While on Beechwood

Avenue, the suspect ran to a vehicle and fled.

The suspect is described as a black man, six feet, six inches tall, thin, with a scar on his right check and wearing red shoes and all black clothing.
