GOSHEN – The death toll from the coronavirus in Orange County has increased with two more senior citizens passing away on Monday. That brings to 547 the number of people to have succumb to the deadly virus since the pandemic began last spring.

There were over 1,900 active cases on Monday, said County Executive Steven Neuhaus who listed the following five communities:

Warwick had 196 active cases, the City of Middletown has 178, the Town of New Windsor had 172, the Town of Wallkill had 156 and the City of Newburgh had 150.

The number of new positive cases is on the rise across the Hudson Valley as the second wave of the pandemic gains a foothold.
