Second Wurtsboro restaurant has COVID case

WURTSBORO – An employee at the Wurtsboro Diner and Café has tested positive for the coronavirus, Sullivan County Public Health Services confirmed on Friday.

Anyone who was in the restaurant located at 60 Sullivan in Wurtsboro at any of the dates below may have been exposed to the virus.

  • November 15 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
  • November 17 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
  • November 18 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
  • November 22 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
  • November 24 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
  • November 25 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Public Health Director Nancy McGraw said the employee was wearing a mask while working and is now quarantining. “But this continues a rising trend of coronavirus cases in the Wurtsboro over the past week,” she said.

Anyone who thinks they may have been exposed and develop symptoms should self-quarantine for 14 days and call their doctor, McGraw said.

Also, this week, at least one person at the LaMananitas Restaurant in Wurtsboro tested positive.

In total, the county said as many as 17 people have the virus in Wurtsboro.
