KINGSTON – The second wave of the coronavirus, that we have now entered, is not a pretty picture and Ulster County Executive Patrick Ryan sounded the alarm bell on Tuesday.

Ryan said that even before statistics about a possible spread as a result of Thanksgiving gatherings are compiled, the situation does not look good.

“We are now definitively going to have a worst second wave than the first wave. Just looking at the numbers, we are already almost to those numbers, and that is before any of the impacts of Thanksgiving and so on that we know we are concerned about,” he said.

Ryan said the county has a robust contact tracing program in place and continues to offer programs to aid struggling small businesses. He urged those in need to reach out to the county economic development office.
