MONTICELLO – With thousands of absentee ballots to be counted, Democratic Acting Sullivan County District Attorney Meagan Gallian was ahead of Republican challenger Frank LaBuda Tuesday night.
Galligan is optimistic going into the continued vote count.
“So far it looks like we have about 7,000 absentee ballots that have to be counted. At this point, we are ahead by approximately 3,000 votes. So, it still is a substantial number of votes that must be counted so we are not counting our chickens before they hatch,” she said.
LaBuda is a retired county court judge who is hoping to get back into public office.
