CATSKILL – State Police have arrested a Schenectady man on charges of burglary and criminal contempt, both as felonies, and misdemeanors of petit larceny and aggravated harassment in connection with a domestic incident.

Troopers were called to a residence on Bailey Road in the Town of Catskill in the early afternoon of October 25 for a report of a possible burglary. The homeowner said she believed her former boyfriend entered her home during the night and stole $3,200 in cash, jewelry valued at over $7,250, and $300 in non-US currency.

An investigation revealed that Delavan Raphael, 33, illegally broke into the home and stole the belongings.

There was an order of protection issued to Raphael not to have any contact with the victim.

He was arraigned and remanded to the Greene County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail or bond or $100 partial bond.
