Second suspect arrested in latest Kingston shooting

KINGSTON – Police have arrested a second suspect in the shooting of a 21-year-old Kingston man on Wednesday afternoon. The victim was walking on Elmendorf Street in Kingston just before 2:30 in the afternoon when he was shot twice.

Later that day, police arrested Jahsi Quiles, 21, of Kingston and charged him with assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

On Thursday, police arrested a second man, Matthew Harries, 21, and charged him with assault and weapon possession.

During the investigation police recovered a loaded gun.

The investigation is continuing, and police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call them at 845-331-1671 or the tipline at 845-331-4499. All calls will be kept confidential.

Kingston Police were assisted in the investigation by the Ulster County Sheriff’s and District Attorney’s Offices, State Police and Town of Ulster Police.
