POUGHKEEPSIE – In early July, the New York State Police Underwater Recovery Team (URT) discovered a vehicle submerged in the Hudson River off the shore of Waryas Park.  At the time of the recovery, the divers discovered a second vehicle in the water off the shore of the Children’s Museum.

On Wednesday morning, the URT divers entered the water at Waryas Park to recover the second car, a Toyota.

Divers indicated that the vehicle was submerged in the water parallel to the shoreline, just south of the confluence with the Fallkill Creek.  The vehicle was described as an “older” car that had possibly been there for an extended period of time.  The windows had been blown out and the front of the car was submerged in the mud on the river bottom.

A State Police tow truck was at the scene to tow the car back to dry land and remove it for examination by the forensics team that was also present.  State Police are continuing their investigation.
