POUGHKEEPSIE – Police have positively identified the remains found in a car that was submerged in the Hudson River off Poughkeepsie early last month.

On July 9, New York State Police divers located a car in the Hudson River near Waryas Park.  The following day, the car, matching one owned by Rohan Brown of Poughkeepsie, reported missing on August 7, 2008, was recovered and transported to a secure location.

On August 6, a spokesman for the New York State Police Troop K identified the remains found in the vehicle as those of Rohan Brown, who was born on January 28, 1983.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances as to how the car wound up in the river.
