KINGSTON – Effective on Monday, shoppers in Kingston will have to resume feeding on-street parking meters. They have been bagged for months since COVID-19 hit the region.
Mayor Steven Noble said, though, now is the time to start charging for parking once again.
“We hope that people will understand why we have to do this and understand that this is really to help our business economy and help our businesses get back on their feet and help people get back employed again as we come through and deal with this economic recession that this pandemic has caused,” he said.
Grand Street and parking lot meters will remain bagged for the time being.
