KINGSTON – The Kingston Common Council’s Finance Committee has given its okay to Mayor Steven Noble’s proposal to spend $314,000 from the city’s Recreation Trust Fund to upgrade city parks.

The mayor said the money will be put to good use to modernize the city’s parks with added amenities.

“Many of these projects we hope to complete this summer and fall so that by next season our parks will be able to be open and engage in a whole new way,” he said.

Improvements would include roof repairs to pavilions, replacement of playground equipment, and first phase of construction for a skatepark.
