Poughkeepsie man arrested in connection with gas station robbery

POUGHKEEPSIE – A Poughkeepsie man is under arrest charged with holding up a gas station attendant at Chestnut Mobil, 2605 South Road in the Town of Poughkeepsie.

Just after 7 a.m. on May 23, a man approached the clerk, gave him a note saying he had a weapon, and demanded cash from the registers. The suspect made off with $380 in cash.

A description was provided by the clerk and after an investigation by town police, the suspect was identified as Michael Morris, 30. He was later located in the town and taken into custody without incident.

He was charged with robbery and released on an appearance ticket returnable to town court.
