BEACON – An anonymous local donor has given the City of Beacon $1,000 in gift cards to the Beacon Key Food Grocery store with each $50 card to be distributed to a local family in need of food.

The donation was made as area residents face more uncertainty given the COVID-19 pandemic.

City administration will work with the city school district and local religious leaders to ensure the cards are distributed to families who are most in need.

“An individual opened up their heart to give back to the city during this devastating economic time, to assist families and people in need,” said Mayor Lee Kyriacou.
