Man arrested in assault

KINGSTON – The City of Kingston Police Department has arrested a 34-year-old Kingston man, on drug charges.

On April 5, the Special Investigations Unit concluded an investigation into heroin sales throughout the city with the arrest of Robert Adriana.

At about 6:22 p.m., SIU detectives and uniformed patrol officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop of Adriana on Wilber Avenue in the city. Adriana attempted to flee from officers but was taken into custody in the area of Wiltwyck Avenue and Downs Street after his vehicle collided with a parked car and he led officers on a brief foot pursuit. A substantial amount of narcotics was recovered from Adriana.

He was charged with two counts each of criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal sale of a controlled substance, reckless endangerment, unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, and resisting arrest.

The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Division assisted in the arrest.
