MONTICELLO – Consistent with the guidance from Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Health Department to reduce the community spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), access to in-person transactions at the Sullivan County Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and the County Clerk’s Office will be by appointment only and limited to Sullivan County residents. No “walk-ins” will be allowed in either the DMV or the Clerk’s Office. Title search firms will be given the opportunity to access documents remotely for a fee. These procedures will remain in effect until further notice.

“It is imperative to take actions to slow the spread of COVID-19 and to protect the health and well-being of our employees, the business community and Sullivan County residents while continuing to provide services,” stated County Clerk Russell Reeves.

E-filing and e-recording are encouraged, and all DMV dealer work will continue to be accepted and processed. Renewals can be mailed to Monticello DMV, 100 North St., Monticello, NY 12701.  Reeves also noted that the camera used for DMV transactions has been repaired, enabling photos to be taken for licenses and identification cards.

To make an appointment, please call either the DMV at 845-794-3872 or the County Clerk’s Office at 845-807-0411.
