POUGHKEEPSIE – Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union closed its Poughkeepsie branch on Wednesday, including the personal teller machine, due to an employee who was “indirectly exposed” to COVID-19 outside of work, bank President Wayne Winkler said in an email to customers.

“Out of an abundance of caution and with guidance from the Department of Health, we have closed our Poughkeepsie Branch,” he wrote. “We are taking this step to ensure the health and safety of our members and staff.”

Winkler said while the branch is closed, they are conducting a “professional deep cleaning of the location as per guidelines from the Center for Disease and Prevention. In addition to the professional cleaning.”

The branch is scheduled to reopen at 8 a.m. on Friday.

“Members are invited to use our other branch Locations during this time. In addition, our online banking and the MHV Mobile App can help complete many banking transactions, including paying bills, transferring money, and our mobile app, depositing checks,” Winkler wrote in the email.
