Brush fires break out across region

MID-HUDSON – The dry weather was fuel Sunday for several brush fires in the Hudson Valley.

Fires were reported in Dutchess, Ulster, Orange and Columbia counties during the day with firefighters called out to quell the flames.

On Kaisertown Road in the Town of Montgomery, five-acres near the Orange County Sheriff’s Office K-9 facility on East Kaisertown Road burned.

A two-alarm brush fire was called at 387 Bog Hollow Road in Wassaic. Another two-alarm brush fire was reported at Route 32 and Freetown Highway in Plattekill.

In Stanford, firefighters attended to a brush fire at 37 Crescent Road.

In Ancram, volunteers extinguished a brush fire at 1719 Route 7 and in Ghent at 1885 Route 22, firefighters knocked down a brush fire.
