Early morning fire damages Middletown residence

MIDDLETOWN – Fire that broke out shortly after midnight Thursday morning damaged a three-story residence at 36 Smith Street in Middletown.

The two-alarm fire brought out firefighters from neighboring departments.

Heavy fire was reported showing from the second-floor rear of the building as firefighters battled the blaze.

All units returned to service shortly before 5 a.m.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known and there were no reported injuries.
