Watervliet man arrested for felony drug possession in Westchester

YORKTOWN – A Watervliet man was arrested following a traffic stop on the Taconic State Parkway in the Town of Yorktown on Tuesday on felony drug charges as well as obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

At about 10:50 a.m., State Police pulled over a 2019 Jeep Compass for a violation of vehicle and traffic law and during the interview with the driver, Kenyatta Ingram, Jr., 30, he refused to comply with lawful orders and a struggle ensued.

A State Police K-9 was utilized and taser deployed before Ingram was taken into custody. Both the investigating trooper and Ingram suffered injuries and were treated at New York Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital.

Further investigation found Ingram in possession of some 697 grams of ecstasy, 75 grams of marijuana and approximately 34 grams of cocaine.

He was arraigned and released on his own recognizance pending a future court appearance.
