The proposed project stretches from Schodak, NY to Pleasant Valley, NY.

PLEASANT VALLEY – New York Transco, owned by subsidiaries of National Grid, Con Edison, AVANGRID, and CH Energy Group, will be presenting an update to their New York Energy Solution (NYES) project on December 11 at the Pleasant Valley Town Board meeting.

New York Transco is the developer of NYES which is the electric transmission upgrade project stretching from Schodak in Rensselear County to Pleasant Valley in Dutchess County.  The plan calls for using installing a monopole system the entire 54.5-mile length and attaching a 345kv transmission line on the poles.  According to NYES, the project will eliminate approximately 230 transmission structures along the route.  Pleasant Valley will be home to a new capacitor bank station and an upgraded substation.

The meeting is scheduled for 7 pm at town hall, located at 1554 Main Street, in Pleasant Valley.
