Schmitt announces construction of a 99th Assembly District Veterans’ Wall of Honor

NEW WINDSOR – Assemblyman Colin Schmitt (R, New Windsor) has teamed up with area labor unions and the American Legion to construct a Veterans Wall of Honor for his district.

The effort is a partnership with Carpenters Local 279, Laborers Local 17 and American Legion Post 1796.

It will highlight all 17 inductees of the 99th Assembly District Veterans’ Hall of Fame and will be formally unveiled on Monday, November 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the Orange County Emergency Services Auditorium in Goshen.

“It is critically important to honor our heroes and inform all in our community about these heroes and their stories of service,” the freshman lawmaker said.

“Schmitt is himself a member o the US Army National Guard. He is a “true supporters of all veterans and as someone still serving himself knows how critical it is to always remember all who have sworn an oath to defend our country,” said Tracey Lanthier, American Legion Post 1796 commander.
