Ulster County reaches agreement with deputy sheriff’s PBA

KINGSTON – Ulster County Executive Patrick Ryan has reached a contract agreement the with the county deputy sheriffs Police Benevolent Association.

The union has been without a contract for close to two years.

The new agreement will give a two percent increase for 2018 and a 2.5 percent increase for 2019.

PBA President Det. Mario Tagliafierro said the negotiations were “fair and equitable to all parties involved.”

“Out sheriff’s department, and all members of our local law enforcement, put their lives on the line every day,” said Ryan.

The new contract expires at the end of this year with talks on a new one going forward will likely begin shortly.
