SAUGERTIES – A Cairo, New York man suffered back and leg injuries when he was trimming trees in extended bucket of a truck when it tipped over on its side.

Glen Thorne, 48, who owns the company, was cutting down a tree branch at 26 Blue Hills Drive in the Town of Saugerties at 1:14 p.m. on Friday.

He was treated at the scene by Diaz Ambulance and transported to HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley’s Broadway campus in Kingston for further treatment.

Detectives established the truck rolled as a result of Thorne’s failure to use the front outriggers on the truck when having the boom extended.
