NEWBURGH – It took two years, but the sale of the old factory building at 109 South William Street in the City of Newburgh has been completed.
City Manager Joseph Donat told the city council Monday night that he has signed the deal for the BOM Newburgh company to purchase the building the city had acquired for failure of the former owner to pay back taxes.
Now, an almost $3 million redevelopment will be undertaken, said Donat.
BOM is three-way partnership between A.E. Baxter, the builder, Sisha Ortuzar, and Mapos Design Studio, which will serve as the architect and designer of the project.
Donat said the project will be a “game changer” for that area of the City of Newburgh.
